If you are like me, you are obsessed with Paranormal TV. If you are then you most likely got started with the original paranormal show “Ghost Hunters” back in 2004. Grant Wilson and Jason Hawes were a team of plumbers by day, and paranormal investigators by night. They founded TAPS with the motivation to help families and people who were experiencing fear because of paranormal investigation.

Grant left after a decade of travel and ghost hunting to watch his own children grow and be a father and husband. “Ghost Hunters” continued without him for a few seasons before finally ending after 11 seasons in 2016.

Jason and fellow “Ghost Hunters” members Dave Tango and Steve Gonsalves continue to work together and have their own show “Ghost Nation” premiering later this year as well.

It is strange to go into a show that you have formed an emotional connection to a team with and return to it without knowing anyone. However, aside from the new team, handpicked by Grant, the mission is the same; to help people get to the bottom of their experiences and quell any fear steaming from them.

Kristen Luman and Daryl Marston join the team as co- leas investigators. The three lead their team in an investigation of a Pocatello, Idaho high school. Students and teachers are all convinced the school is haunted. Grant and his team get to the bottom of things by spending two nights investigating and researching the history of the school and land below it.

The rest of the team consists of Mustafa Gatollari, research historian, Brandon Alvis, tech manager, Brian Murray, investigator, Richel Stratton, investigator.  All have real world knowledge and skills from their day jobs to bring special skillsets to the team.

In all, I thought the team worked really well together, and the overall feeling and set up of the show is the same as the original show. The only thing I was missing was the family camaraderie of the original team. I am sure this new team will grow on me as time goes on. Despite the show missing the feeling of the family atmosphere, I am very excited about the show, and seeing what this new team can do. The newer equipment and the updated technology will allow the team to get more information and better information, which makes for better evidence, or lack thereof.

I think any fan of the original show will like this reboot.

  1. But Grant is no longer a member of TAPS…so why does he get the Ghost Hunters…it was 8 years he was there.
