The highly anticipated HexaCon had finally arrived. Radisson’s hotel in Aurora, CO was teaming with board game enthusiasts. Two floors were packed with gamers this Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend Jan. 17-20, 2020. Fans of all ages joined in for board games, role-playing games (RPGs), live-action role-playing (LARPs), miniatures, and of course, the all-important Vendor’s Room. There was even Catan tournament which was a qualifier for nationals that will take place in Columbus Ohio at Origins.
Dice, cards, and even hand-painted game pieces were spread out across table after table; room after room. One fan shared his story about his passion to paint these tiny and intricate game pieces. It is definitely a labor of love.
Pretty much every board game was on hand thanks to the Colorado Gaming Library and passionate players who set up meticulous game boards for everyone to enjoy. The schedule of events was bursting with activities. Even a bard from the NERO Empire Larp entertained with his music.
