It is no secret to anyone at this point that this year has been a bit…rough. However, Jake Abel has gone above and beyond to help us through it. At the start of quarantine, Mr. Able broke (quite literally) into a fun and oftentimes unpredictable cooking show he titled “Jake & Bake.” Whether he was showing us how to make some amazing blueberry ricotta pancakes, encouraging people to vote, or rocking the Dread Pirate look, Jake has never failed to bring a smile to his viewers’ faces. And now he has done it again.

This morning, Mr. Abel released the first-ever “Jake & Bake” holiday special: “Cake and Snowflakes.” While most of the episodes have been done on Instagram Live, this one was pre-recorded and posted on his YouTube channel. Jake of course shows off his stellar editing skills, but we also get a look at the Abel household’s delightful hot chocolate station, adorable holiday stockings, and beautiful wreaths that perfectly tie in the Christmas spirit.

The best part about “Jake & Bake” (except for the incredible Jake Abel himself) is seeing what new recipe is going to be featured. This time we got a special treat! A recipe that Jake created himself with a silicone snowflake mold he found at the store, some devil’s food cake, vanilla bark, and chocolate frosting. He takes his viewers through the prep and process of making this delectable creation with wit and a comedic timing that sparks joy into the day that everyone needed. Of course, it just wouldn’t be Jake & Bake without a mishap or two…

Hopefully, this is the first of many holiday specials for Jake & Bake! You can watch this fun episode on Jake’s YouTube channel by clicking here. Catch up on the other episodes on his Instagram, and if you still cannot get enough of Mr. Abel (as if it is even possible to get enough of this guy) make sure to watch his quarantine short film, “Jake and Quarantine.” Be sure to follow him on Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date on any “Jake & Bake” news.
