CB: Thank you for taking time out to chat with us. Let’s start off by talking about “Hypnotic” that premieres this week. Two questions:

1.) Tell us about your experience filming the movie.

Lucie Guest: It was my first time working with a real tarantula so that was a trip! I guess I’m not as terrified as my character, Gina is of spiders. I kinda miss that 8-legged hairy spider, whose name is Harry, btw. If you don’t look directly at his fangs, he’s actually a real cutie, maybe it was love at first sight?

I think I spent most of the time trying to come up with ideas for movies about two sisters that Kate and I could play, so we could work together over and over… because I love her, she’s so talented and more Kate in my life, please.

LG: Another amazing thing about filming “Hypnotic,” was working with a team of directors, we had two directors directing this movie, Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote, which is rare but not unusual, they’re actually a couple in real life so they definitely had the same brain and that was fun to work with.

2.) What are you allowed to tell us about your character?

LG: Gina is Jenn’s best friend, her ride or die. She wants Jenn to get out of a funk she has been in. Gina knows that Jenn is just going through a rough patch in her life and is trying to help her turn the corner. She convinces Jenn to see her hypnotherapist named Dr. Collin Meade, played by Jason O’Mara. Gina has been having incredible results since she has been seeing him. She wants the same for her bestie. One other thing, Gina is terrified of spiders. Maybe the most extreme case of arachnophobia.

CB: Are you a fan of horror movies? If so, what are a couple of your favorites?

LG: I love a mixed bag, nostalgic old-school scary movies, and I love horror-comedy the most. I’m about to re-watch “Ghostbusters” and “Scream,” I recently watched “Beetlejuice.” I really enjoyed “Get Out,” and I’m late to the game but I just binged “Mindhunter” on Netflix.

CB: Do you have any other projects in the works that you are allowed to tell us about?

LG: I just finished filming a movie called “Disappearance in Yellowstone.” I play a mom whose daughter goes missing in Yellowstone park and she goes on a mission to try and find her, directed by Tony Dean Smith.

CB: You were named one of the Top Ten Filmmakers to Watch in 2017. Congrats, that is wonderful! Your filmography is amazing. What sparked your interest in show biz?

LG: I think I’ve always been interested in acting, performing. I can remember always doing plays in the backyard with my brother and sister and friends. I first got the taste of performing for a live audience when I was in a grade five stage production and I started improvising some unscripted things and it got laughs from the audience and I could see out of the corner of my eye the teacher cracking up while playing piano. Also, my friends’ dad worked as a teacher and for the summer he would bring home the school’s large video camera – which was a big deal back then. We would make short videos and movies for our family and friends. They were like old-school Tik Toks but, not at all.

CB:The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” is such a fresh and unique series. What was your experience on that set like?

LG: The experience on the set of “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” was one of the highlights of filming that series. Kiernan Shipka who plays Sabrina is such an incredible human being as well as a very talented actress. The cast was very welcoming of new characters and the show felt like a family. They would have games night and it was just the best! Such good memories from that show.

CB: I love your Instagram. It’s creative. Do you like staying in touch with your fans via social media?

LG: Thank you!! I am not the most active on social media but I do love to engage with fans!

CB: What do you do with what little spare time you probably have?

LG: I like to spend time with friends 🙂
