This past weekend, Creation Entertainment hosted a Salute to Lucifer convention in Los Angeles, CA. The convention was a two-day, fun-filled event featuring actors from the television series, “Lucifer.” Those in attendance amongst the cast was Tom Ellis (Lucifer), DB Woodside (Amenadiel), Lesley-Ann Brandt (Mazikeen), Aimee Garcia (Ella Lopez), Kevin Alejandro (Dan Espinoza), Tricia Helfer (Charlotte), and Inbar Lavi (Eve).

Day One started off with Aimee Garcia’s question and answer panel. She was fun, energetic, and sweet which was a great way to start the convention. Aimee, who is known for accidentally sharing spoilers, said we may get an interesting love match for Ella next season based on Aimee’s mention of “unconventional love matches”. Aimee shared some great stories about on-set shenanigans with Lauren German at the helm. Three words: camel-toe underwear. As a side note: Lauren, can we be best friends? Also, Aimee’s impersonation of her mom flirting with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles on the set of “Supernatural” had us all laughing.

We had a nice surprise of Lesley-Ann Brandt crashing Aimee’s panel. First, Lesley-Ann does not seem to have a single bad angle. I’m talking cheekbones FOR DAYS. She loves that the show has shown acceptance for and normalization of things like pansexuality in a way that is not throwing it in the audience’s face. She also talked about the character development of Maze throughout the seasons which is part of what makes her such a loved character of this amazing show.

The next panel was Inbar Lavi. Inbar talked about the sandwich scene with Lauren German, Tom Ellis, and Aimee Garcia and how funny it was for them because the sandwich smelled like rotten eggs. Keep in mind, they were on set with this smelly sandwich all day. She and Aimee were kind enough to leave that sandwich in Lauren’s trailer so that when she wrapped at 3 AM, she had something nice to greet her. Inbar has been making music as well. Who else is looking forward to that album coming out sometime next year?

DB Woodside was the final panel for day one of the convention and blessed the audience with lots of laughs and smiles. DB seemed to pick up on the theme of the day of talking about how amazing all of his costars are and everyone seems to be in agreement on how Tom makes it a joy to go to work every day with his professionalism and kindness and just how hilarious Lauren German is. DB said he would love to take on a Marvel role next (somebody get Marvel on the phone). He also gave some possible spoilers, saying that a musical episode may be happening (YAY) and we may also see Michael in this last season.

Day Two of the convention started for the Gold ticket holders with the gold panel of Tom Ellis, Kevin Alejandro, and Tricia Helfer. Kevin and Tom laughed at the possibility of Dan finding out that Lucifer really is the devil and what his reaction would be. They talked about some unexpected scenes for them which included the Lucifer/Cain speedo scene, the Dan/Ella Kiss (much to the disgust of Tom who said it was like watching his kids snogging), and the Dan/Mom kiss.

Next, Tricia Helfer graced the stage and talked a little about being the first female Dracula in Van Helsing as well as some what-if scenarios for mom in Lucifer. She also talked about some difficult scenes to film for Lucifer. Trying not to laugh because of Lauren (anyone else sense a theme here?) is difficult enough, apparently. But Tricia also talked about having to strip down in the middle of the road while onlookers, out having lunch, stared. How awkward.

Kevin Alejandro was up next, and I know we all fell a little more in love with him. He talked about directing and his hopes that Dan finds out that Lucifer really is the devil. Kevin also gave us a little glimpse of his upcoming project working with Lesley-Ann Brandt again in a film where we get to see Kevin oiled up in latex (I’m in). If given a choice of what character between the show “True Blood” and the show “Lucifer” that Kevin wanted to play, he would choose Lafayette. He would have a lot of fun with that character as I’m sure we would have fun watching him in that role.

Tom Ellis surprised us all by crashing Kevin’s panel and it turned into a duo panel for a bit. Two hot guys on stage, smiling and laughing? Who wouldn’t want that? They joked about the scene at the end of season 4 where Lucifer and Dan pulled the “Dirty Dancing” lift and then Lucifer threw Dan in the air.

Tom said there was a great scene that was cut out where Dan just fell from the ceiling, got up, and nonchalantly walked away. Kevin then piggybacked on Tom’s bodyguard off the stage and left it to Tom to finish out the day.
