Paramount Plus to drop their new 10 episode series, “Mayor of Kingstown” starring Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner. “Mayor of Kingston” is an original drama for the streaming service, and is set to premiere on November 14th.
The trailer for the highly anticipated drama dropped on August 31st and already there is a lot to unpack. The series follows a family of power brokers, the McLusky’s, in Kingstown, Michigan. The drama seems to be on the darker end, as the show describes incarceration as the only booming business in the town. It will cover relevant, and prevalent topics such as corruption, systemic racism, and inequality. The drama will show the struggles of the harsh reality of bringing justice and regulation to a town, that seemingly doesn’t have any.
Not only is Mr. Renner starring in the project, but he is also an executive producer on the series as well. The drama is also set to star Academy Award Winner Dianne Wiest, Emmy Award Winner Kyle Chandler, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, and Tobi Bamtefa. The series was created by Academy Award Nominee Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon. The 10 episode drama released its first look for the series at the Television Critics Associate virtual presentation on August 31st. The trailer currently has 2.4 million views on YouTube.
Paramount+ is will air a special premiere of “Mayor of Kingstown” on November 14th. This will follow a new episode of YELLOWSTONE on the streaming service.
