Night Shyamalan’s ‘Glass’ with Samuel L Jackson and Bruce Willis. Nerd Alert News: Thank you, Mr. Thompson, for taking the time to answer a few questions for Nerd Alert News.

Adam David Thompson: Thanks for having me!

NAN: Just from following along on social media, it looks like you were able to have a lot of fun filming ‘Vampires vs The Bronx.’ What were some of your favorite parts of being in the movie?

ADT: It was a blast. I love playing make-believe! So, playing a completely mythical creature is incredible. The hair and make-up process took about an hour and a half each night, but when I walked out of that trailer, I had been completely transformed. I think that was my favorite part. Being transformed into Alexis every night was very exciting. I was always so excited to get to set and play!

NAN: You have a recurring role on the FX series ‘A Teacher,’ which premiers on Nov. 10th. What should fans know about the series and your character’s role in the story?

ADT: It is a show about a predatory relationship between a high school teacher and her student.

I play Nate Wilson, who is Claire’s (Kate Mara) brother. He is a good guy who is just trying to do the right thing. He loves his sister and wants to protect her, but he is a law enforcement officer who has dedicated his life to the job. I rarely get to play good guys. So this was quite a nice departure.

NAN: I have always been a huge fan of M. Night Shyamalan, so I have to ask, what was it like working with him on ‘Glass?’

ADT: I loved working with Night! Not only was I on set with some of the heaviest hitters in Hollywood, but I am also being directed by a person who has really created his own genre. I felt very honored to be a part of the continuation of these stories with such iconic characters. Another thing I will say about Night is this: I have never worked with a person who understands what the audience is thinking more than Night. That is why he is such a good storyteller!

NAN: I really enjoyed ‘Godless’ when it came out on Netflix and actually rewatched it recently. Your character, Gatz, was so believable throughout the series.

ADT: Thank you so much, that is the best compliment to receive.

NAN: I read that prior to the role, you had said that being in a western was something you really wanted to do. Now that you have, did you enjoy the experience and would you want to do another one?

ADT: I know! I can’t believe I manifested that! Playing a cowboy was as equally hard as it was rewarding. We would get to set before the sun rose! My calltime was typically around 4:30 in the morning. When we arrived, our horses would be grazing near the trailers. When the sun would begin to rise, it would reveal whatever incredible vista we were in for that day. It would take my breath away! Then we would go say good morning to our horse and begin to get them warmed up. My horse’s name was Bradley, and I still think about him all the time. The days were long and physically demanding, but damn, it was so worth it! I would saddle back up for another western in a heartbeat!

NAN: You have a wide range of character roles in your portfolio and have worked with so many talented people. Is there someone you would really like to work with that you haven’t had the opportunity to yet?

ADT: Ooooh good question! Let’s see if I can manifest another incredible experience. Here goes… When it comes to directors, I have always wanted to work with David Fincher, Kelly Reichardt, Wes Anderson, P.T. Anderson, Yorgos Lanthimos, Greta Gerwig, Spike Jonze, Spike Lee, The Coen Brothers and Quentin Tarantino. Visionaries! All of them! Ok, so admittedly I got a little carried away there with my list. I just wanted to make sure it was a real manifest fest!

NAN: I would like to thank you again for your time and I can’t wait to see what is coming up next for you. Best wishes on all of your future endeavors.

ADT: Thank you so much! This was really fun!
