“Yellowstone” and “1883” fans anxiously await the premiere of Taylor Sheridan’s next gem, “1923.” Thankfully, they won’t need to wait too much longer as the new series premieres Dec. 18 on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada. This next installment of the “Yellowstone” Origin Story brings in heavy hitters Academy Award Nominee Harrison Ford and Academy Award Winner Helen Mirren to play the new generation of Duttons.
Ford will Jacob Dutton and Mirren will play Cara Dutton and the show will explore the early 20th century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition and the Great Depression all plague the mountain west and the Duttons who call it home.
As if the name Taylor Sheridan was not enticing enough, now we have Han Solo himself teamed up with the screen icon Mirren. In addition to Ford and Mirren, the series boasts Brandon Sklenar (THE OFFER), Darren Mann (“Animal Kingdom”), Michelle Randolph (“A Snow White Christmas”), James Badge Dale (“Hightown”), Marley Shelton (“Scream”), Brian Geraghty (“Big Sky”), Aminah Nieves (“Blueberry”), Julia Schlaepfer (“The Politician”) and Jerome Flynn (“Game of Thrones”).
Sheridan already has “Yellowstone” headed into its fifth season Nov. 13, and has “Mayor of Kingstown” set to premiere Jan. 15,, and the highly anticipated upcoming shows “Tulsa King,” Lioness,” “Bass Reeves,” and “Land Man.”
Set those calendar reminders for Sunday, Dec. 18, for the U.S. and Canada, and Monday, Dec. 19, for the U.K. and Australia. Premiere dates for other Paramount+ international markets will be announced at a later date. “1923” Is Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions.
