In the spring, another series of a rather unknown and dark superhero will be added to the streaming service. We have the details and the first trailer.
Disney’s new form of ultimate promotion

March is just around the corner, and Marvel fans have some new content to sink their teeth into. Oscar Isaac will be welcomed into the superhero world with his exciting new role. According to IndieWire, Isaac says that the series felt handmade. It’s legitimate Marvel character study since “Iron Man.” What I love about this thing is that it’s an exploration of a mind that doesn’t know his own brain. I found that really moving.
Nowadays it is almost common for trailers to have their own trailers or “teasers”. This builds hype and traffic and ensures better marketing. Or countless clips, pictures, and featurettes are produced until the film/series is released so that the hype doesn’t dissipate too quickly. At least that’s how it was with the last Marvel movies like “Shang-Chi”, “Eternals” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. For “Moon Knight” there was actually a short teaser before the actual upload of the whole trailer, which gives us the first taste and shows that “Moon Knight” might go different ways than its Marvel series predecessors. Oscar Isaac takes on the role of the avenger and Ethan Hawke plays an ominous cult leader. The director Jeremy Slater is known for other superhero productions such as “Fantastic Four (2015)” and “Umbrella Academy”.

Moon Knight” more like “Wandavision” than “Hawkeye”

The comic character of the Moon Knight is not only a complete novelty in the MCU, it offers interesting new possibilities of representation. On the one hand, we have Marc Spector, a disused mercenary who, due to events that are probably still to be expected, serves the Egyptian god Khonshu. However, the trailer shows a rather completely confused man who suffers from sleeping problems and very mysterious events that he cannot reconcile with his reality. The background to this will certainly be resolved as the series progresses, but fans of the character know that it must have something to do with his multiple personality disorder. Unfortunately, Marc Spector belongs under this disorder and the trailer also indicates this. The series seems to stand out from the previous ones and drift into a slight psychological horror track. We can experience exactly what will happen weekly on Disney+, March 30, 2022.
