October is almost here and with that comes a new season of anime. Fans can get excited as this Fall is filled to the brim with many top-tier series returning and some brand new series premiering. With all these series premiering it’s a guarantee there’ll be something for everyone. Here’s a look at the Top 5 most anticipated anime premiering in Fall 2022! 

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War

After a decade-long wait Bleach has finally returned. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will see the final installment and the epic conclusion to Bleach. It became known as one of the Big Three (along with Naruto and One Piece) due to its wide success during Shonen Jump’s golden age.

Since its announcement, Viz Media has dropped several new trailers for the upcoming anime, the most recent being a clip from the show. The series’ opening song is “Scar” by Tatsuya Kitani, and the ending theme song is “Saihate”. The anime is set to run for four cours with breaks in between.

As of now, the streaming platform is still unknown although plenty of rumors have been hinting at Crunchyroll or Disney+. What we do know is that both the English and Japanese cast are set to return. Lucky fans will get a sneak peak premiere ahead of the Japanese release during the Bleach panel at NewYorkComicCon

The premiere of the BLEACH sequel will kick off the Thousand Year Blood War Arc. The arc will adapt to the long-standing war between the Quincys and the Shinigami. Drawn into the fight to protect his family, Ichigo will join the fight with the Soul Reapers battle against Emperor Yhwach and his Quincy army, leading to a bloody war rife with death!

Chainsaw Man

During the Jump Festa ’21, Jump Studio stage panels it was announced that the manga written by Tatsuki Fujimoto would receive an anime adaptation produced by MAPPA Studios. The anime is directed by Ryū Nakayama and Makoto Nakazono.

The series follows a poor boy named Denji who upon his death makes a contract with a dog-like Chainsaw devil named Pochita. Denji is then revived as a “Chainsaw Man” and must work with the government to rid the world of other devils. 

The official Chainsaw Man website released a new trailer for the upcoming anime, along with announcing the opening and 12 ending themes and artists. The series opening song is “Kick Back” by Kenshi Yonezu, with each episode featuring 12 different ending songs one for each episode. Here’s the full list

My Hero Academia

(Season 6)

Get ready Heroes for an epic showdown between heroes and villains! Class 1A is back and will face off against their biggest foes yet in this season. There is a lot of hero news to talk about so let’s get to it.

Season 6 of My Hero Academia is set to kick off the Paranormal Liberation War. Now that Hawks has gathered enough intel on the infamous group it’s time for the Heroes to assemble and face off against the Paranormal Liberation Front, leading to an all-out war! Anime News and Facts announced that Season 6 will be a total of 25 episodes divided into two consecutive hours. Meaning we will get 6 months of Deku and his friends. The official Twitter account announced that the new series’ opening theme will be “Hitamuki” by SUPER BEAVER and the ending theme will be “SKETCH” by Kiro Akiyama. 

The upcoming storyline is set to be a roller coaster of emotions filled with laughs and heartbreak. Crunchyroll and Funimation released two new OVA’s that show us more of the students during their work studies.

Mob Psycho 100 

(Season 3)

Photo credit: Studio BonesEveryone’s favorite milk-loving psychic is back for the third and final installment. So get ready for more of Mob! Mob Psycho is based on the manga of the same name by ONE. 

The third season of the series was officially confirmed by the series’ official account. The key visual for Season 3 was created by Yoshimichi Kameda. The opening and ending themes will be performed by Mob Choir. The series opening song is “1” and the ending theme song is “Cobalt.”

Crunchyroll will simulcast the new season from Japan, subbed and dubbed. Unfortunately, it looks like the main English voice actor for Mob (Kyle McCarley) won’t be returning due to negotiation disputes over working under a Union contract. A Message to the Fans of Mob Psycho 100

Spy x Family 

(Season 1 part 2)

The Forgers are back and ready for more secrets and lots of hijinks. Be prepared to follow Anya on her lesion to make Damian her friend for the sake of World peace. 

SPY x FAMILY  follows secret agent Twilight aka Loid Forger on his mission to ensure World peace. Loid must become a family man, posing as a loving husband and father and use his daughter to infiltrate a prestigious prep school to get close to a high-profile politician. How Loid isn’t the only one keeping secrets, his wife Yor is a deadly assassin neither knows the other’s secret. Except for their adopted daughter Anya who’s secretly a telepath. 

The first cour premiered back in April and is streamed on Crunchyroll. The 1st part of this series was an action-packed spy story filled with laughter and shenanigans! So we can expect the same in part 2. The opening theme song is “SOUVENIR” by BUMP OF CHICKEN.

Blue Lock 

(Series Premiere)

It’s almost time for the kickoff. If you’re a fan of Sports anime then you’re sure to love Blue Lock. The manga is written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro. An anime adaptation produced by 8-Bit studios was announced in August of last year.

The series follows Yoichi Isagi, a high school soccer player who is recruited for Blue Lock. An isolated prison-like camp in which three hundred talented strikers from high schools all over Japan compete. The last one standing will become the striker for the National team while everyone who fails is banned from ever joining the team.

The anime is directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe and is set to stream on Crunchyroll. The opening theme song is “Chaos ga Kiwamaru” by Unison Square Garden, and the ending theme song is “Winner” by Shugo Nakamura. Blue Lock is slated to run for 24 episodes in total.
