Jason Manns and Blake Lewis are currently out on their East Coast tour where they will be playing in four different cities, including the New York City show this past Fri. Aug. 31st, 2018 at the Rockwood Music Hall. Nerd Alert News was there to catch them live. The musicians are both extremely talented and have very unique styles. They both played about an hour long set and Blake even had a few friends, Butterscotch and Johnny Buffalo, join him on stage for an epic beatbox performance. Reporter Jadeen Mercado caught up with Blake Lewis to gather some of his thoughts of the tour and his friend Jason Manns.
Jadeen Mercado: So Blake, what inspired you and Jason Manns to do this tour?
Blake Lewis: Jason and I have been talking about playing shows for a couple of years now and ever since Rockwood, it’s been on my mind to make it a reality. We have a great time together, and I personally think it’s a great match up musically.
JM: What are you most excited about?
BL: I’m always excited to make new friends and fans. I’m really stoked to hit the road with Jason and have long chats as we make our way to the next city. We always have great conversations about life, love, and our careers. Lots of laughs!
JM: How would you describe your relationship with Jason?
BL: Magical. LOL! Haha, I would say we have a fun relationship and it’s always filled with laughter, Harmony, and high fives.
JM: What should the fans expect?
BL: Expect the unexpected! Jason and I might have a couple songs in store as the dynamic duo known as “ILewMannate” JK. There shall be lots of tomfoolery on my part, tons of beatboxing, looped vocals that form musical, acapella monstrosities. Just plain, old-fashioned fun from the future.
