The series is incredibly realistic not only in the science of it but in what spending years on Mars would be like for humankind. Season two will delve into pregnancy, breakups, epidemics, breakdowns, power outages, injuries, and socializing all 34 million miles from home.
“If there’s money to be made then people would go there to make the money.” Andy Weir, author of “The Martian”.
Five years later it is 2042 and the International Mars Science Foundation (IMSF) has a successful colony, and yet is in need of money to continue. Insert the private sector. They have a mission to terraform the planet and make way for industry. Lukrum Industries will be neighbors of the IMSF team and will bring mining, dangers, and yes funds.
“Terraforming using solar mirrors to reflective screen over the ice caps, warming the planet and changing its atmosphere to make it more habitable. Science had been the sole purpose of human presence here…until now.” Olympus Town Commander Hana Seung (Jihae)
