Real Life Glitch Entertainment is getting ready to release a 6 episode long feature-length live-action anime-styled web series on Amazon. These young talents put on films and skits, anime, video games, and more. Their new film “My Neck” goes live on Amazon on September 24th, 2021, and can also be found on their YouTube channel. The story follows three characters in a fictional world where “Necking” is life and death for everyone. Apparently, the term “necking” must have taken on a new meaning over the decades!

Fans of “Naruto,” “Avatar the Last Air Bender,” “Kingdom Hearts,” and “Final Fantasy” enjoy their YouTube channel and now have something new to look forward to. Thanks to YouTube, some camera equipment, and creativity, these young actors and directors have put out some very fun content. Find out where the inspiration came from to make this film.

Joseph Springer Jr: ‘My Neck’ is the name of the full 6 episode series. The project is a 6 episode live-action, anime-inspired series coming to Amazon on September 24th, 2021. It follows 3 characters in a fictional world where “Necking” is life and death for everyone. “Necking” is essentially a sport, art, or martial art (depending on who you ask) where people compete to slap the back of their opponent’s neck for pride and honor.

CB: Who came up with the idea for this web series?
JSJ: The initial idea stemmed from an inside joke between me (the director) and my closest friends. Slapping someone’s neck came from something that people did in my grade school – where if you said or did something stupid, you got slapped on the neck. My friends and I continued the neck slapping long after the popularity of it died off, and it became a staple among my group of friends. One day me and a few friends were bouncing around a fun idea of how we could turn the neck slapping joke into an anime story, and so I jokingly wrote up a mock script for it and it was the greatest thing I had ever written at the time, so, I decided to flesh it out and actually turn it into something more than just a funny idea.
CB: Are you all into Anime? What are some of your favorites?
JSJ: Yes, most of the cast and crew who worked on the series are all into anime. I can’t speak for the favorites of the others but some of my favorites are Naruto, Fairy Tail, HunterxHunter, Trigun, and Soul Eater just to name a few. I enjoy light-hearted, silly stories that also contain depth and compelling characters. I also love more gruesome stuff like Attack on Titan and Berserk, but the sweeter stuff is generally my go too.
