With Pokémon Unite, Nintendo releases his own competitor for League of Legends and Dota 2.

The Pokémon Company already presented some exciting new products with Pokémon Snap, Pokémon Smile, and Pokémon Café Mix last week, but the big announcement was promised for this afternoon. But who would have thought that this is a Free to Play MOBA that is located in the Pokémon universe?

In the trailer embedded below you can get a brief impression of the game, in the approximately eleven-minute presentation on YouTube there is more information about the game. The gameplay is very much based on the popular games League of Legends and Dota 2. You play in teams of five against five, each player chooses his hero in the form of a Pokémon, such as Charizard, Venusaur, Blastoise, Gengar among others or you can choose Snorlax.

On the battlefield, there are five “Scoring Areas” on each team’s side that the opposing team must occupy. The common computer opponents at MOBAs are represented in the form of wild Pokémon, which you have to catch to increase your level, get stronger, and get points. Pokémon can also learn new attacks and develop further. Instead of destroying the base of his opponents, the goal of the game is simply to get more points than the opposing team within the time limit.

Pokémon Unit comes for Android, IOS, and Nintendo Switch. All versions support Cross-Play.

The game is “Free to Start”, you can download it for free but you can buy items with real money in the game.

A release date has not yet been announced.
