Colleen Bement:Altered Carbon” was brilliant. I binged watched that show and loved it! What can you share about your experience on the set of such a cool show?

Sarah Porchetta: Amazing! I thought so too. It was a crazy experience as I was on set the very first day and I had heard how crazy the budget was for just one episode. It was next level! We had to stand in a trailer with over 100 cameras that simultaneously flashed at once and they used that footage to turn us into holograms on screen. My favorite part of filming was when they had the live animals at the Raven (snake and raven) and I had a moment with the snake which was awesome. Yes, I love snakes!

CB: Do you have any projects in the works that you’re allowed share about?

SP: I am working on a short film next month with renowned photographer and director
Odette Sugerman. It is set in an old theatre and the vibe is old Hollywood/ Film Noir style. I can’t wait! Also, my partners and I have started a production company and our first feature, a psychological thriller “Neon Candy” is in pre-production. Stay tuned!

CB: My readers would love to hear any stories that you can share about life on the set of such popular series as “Supernatural”, “Arrow”, and “Lucifer”. Let’s chat about all three of these geektastic shows.

“Supernatural”

SP: This was my very first notable speaking role. It was a great experience on set. Everyone made me feel so comfortable; especially for such a sexy scene. It was hilarious having to record the sound effects after of me giggling, moaning etc. We had a good laugh!

“Arrow”

SP: For this one, I was SOC (silent on camera), but I was the vixen in the red dress. It was my job to lure Oliver outside into the alley where I smoked a cigarette and vanished into the fog. So you could say it was fun playing a dark and sultry “woman in the red dress.”

“Lucifer”

SP: This was one of my favorite experiences so far! Being booked for the role in the
interrogation montage scene, I thought I only had one or two lines. One or two lines, but on the day we all found out we had to know the whole scene which was three pages. Luckily we were all in the same boat and could run lines together. It made it more fun, especially getting to do some improv in the hilarious scene!

CB: How did you catch the acting bug? Did you always want to be an actress?

SP: Originally, I started out modeling, but I felt it wasn’t fulfilling enough. I think deep down I always knew I would get into acting. At first, I was a bit scared to get out of my comfort zone. After all, an artist is an artist and we must follow the path. I love acting because it forces you to understand humanity on a deep level and you’re always open to new experiences. It helps you to practice empathy and be hungry for knowledge
while taking in the world around you on a more visceral level.

CB: I see that you’ve produced a couple of projects. What do you like about producing
versus acting?

SP: I am just diving into the world of creating/producing our own projects. I am learning a lot as I go along and have had great advice and mentorship along the way. It is important in this day and age not to rely on just one avenue in this crazy industry. Creating and producing your own content helps you to stand out and guarantees your own success rather than just waiting to book a job.
