Dan Levy is set to write and produce scripted content and other creative projects for Netflix. The first will be a starring role in an original untitled Rom-Com. The news broke this week with Netflix’s announcement exactly one year after Levy’s historic wins at the 2020 Primetime Emmys. The romantic comedy will be written, directed, produced, and starred in by Levy and Stacey Snider and Kate Fenske will co-produce.  Work on the new series is set to begin in July 2022. According to Levy,

Netflix offered Schitt’s Creek a second home at just the right time and opened the doors to a whole new audience for us. Watching the show thrive there has only enhanced my excitement about continuing to tell specific, meaningful stories with them in both tv and feature film. A full circle moment.

Head of Global Film Scott Stuber says about Levy,

Dan Levy is an incredible all-around creative talent, who thoughtfully approaches every story with a meaningful perspective. His work on Schitt’s Creek charmed audiences around the world and we’re thrilled to partner and create new films and shows with Dan.

It is hard to imagine how many offers the “Schitt’s Creek” Creator and Co-Star had after the series ended. No doubt the super-talent had email boxes full of offers. The show won a record-breaking nine Emmy Awards and has found its popular home on Netflix. Dan personally tied the record for the most wins by an individual in a single season and became the only person to win four major categories in a single year.

Dan Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Annie Murphy, and Eugene Levy delighted audiences at the Emmy Awards.
