The latest news out of convention world is that ‘Sons of Anarchy’ star Tommy Flanagan is headed to Colorado Springs Comic Con Aug 26-28, 2016. He will be replacing fellow “Sons” star Ryan Hurst, who unfortunately had to cancel his appearance due to a filming obligation. Flanagan played the popular character of Filip “Chibs” Telford on the well-known FX series along with roles in the films ‘Braveheart’, ‘Gladiator’, and ‘Sin City’. ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ fans will get to see him in the sequel to the hugely popular sci-fi film. This brand new Colorado Springs area convention will hit home with “Sons” fans as joining Flanagan will be Emilio Rivera, who portrayed Marcus Alvarez, Mitch Pileggi, who portrayed Ernest Darby, and Michael Beach, who portrayed Taddarius Orwell.
This shiny new Rocky Mountain area convention has a hot guest list. This three day event is bringing big names in the pop culture verse like Dean Cain, Michael Cudlitz, and the list goes on. Enthusiastic geeks will be headed to the Mortgage Solutions Financial Expo Center in Colorado Springs, CO. On top of the ‘Lois & Clark’ star Cain and ‘The Walking Dead’ alum Michael Cudlitz and Seth Gilliam, Brett Dalton from ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’, Jason Mewes of ‘Clerks’ fame, ‘The Greatest American Hero’ himself, William Katt, Gil Gerard and Felix Silla from ‘Buck Rogers of the 25th Century’, Jason David Frank and Jason Faunt of ‘Power Rangers’, Michael Zapcic and Ming Chen of ‘Comic Book Men’, Tara Reid, Filmmaker Amy Jo Johnson, Ric Flair of WWE fame, Brian O’Halloran of ‘Clerks’, Dr. Dina, Peter Dante, singer Samantha Newark, Tiffany Rice, Paulie Schrier, and Samantha Newark. Guest artists Neal Adams, Joe Rubinstein, Mark Texeira and many more will also attened, along with professional cosplay guests Kristi Kai, Erin Lei, and Penny Johnson. There will of course be epic cosplay and a contest to top it off. Will this be a second chance to show off all that hard work from previous cons this year, or maybe it is time to put together something new? Then of course, there will celebrity photo ops for attendees to get to meet their favorites up close. The almighty dealer’s room will be wall to wall nerd goodness. The schedule is still being finalized, but there will be the always popular sci-fi speed dating, and even a Kids-Com.
Tickets are currently on sale through the event’s website.Ticket prices start at $25 for adults and $10 for kids between the ages of six and twelve. VIP passes are also available. Fans who have pre-purchased a photo opportunity with Ryan Hurst may swap for an opportunity with Flanagan, or receive a refund for the photo opportunity.
