Welcome to the third part of our SPN con interview series with the cast of ‘Supernatural!’ Today, we are bringing you the chat we had with none other than Gabriel Tigerman. With Mr. Tigerman being the next guest on the G-Crew podcast tonight (September 8, 2020), it felt like the perfect time! Make sure to head on over to the G-Crew Patreon page and subscribe to become a “G” as well as a chance to chat with Mr. Tigerman live with the G-Crew gang (Chad Lindberg, Nick Groff, Josh Herd, and Johnny Houser).

Gabriel played a part in Matt Cohen’s action-packed short film ‘Mama Bear’ and has had appearances on TV series such as ‘Casagrandes,’ ‘Silicon Valley,’ and ‘Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street.’ However, to the SPN Family, he will always be Andy Gallagher! He is a much-loved guest at many conventions and countless fans are ecstatic when his appearance is announced. We hope you enjoy reminiscing about his fond con memories as much as we did.

TiShea Wilson: COVID- 19 has turned the convention circuit upside down. While the internet and virtual Q&A’s have kept us all connected, there is still something about actually being at a venue that resonates with us all. What are some of the things you miss most about “Supernatural” conventions?

Gabriel Tigerman: Where to start? Hugs? I think we all miss hugs in general! Just hearing the sound of laughter at the Q&A’s and the incredible singing and the less than incredible (me) singing at karaoke. Kim Rhodes cursing and miming with me to “Don’t Stop Believing.” Chad Lindberg running through the crowd. David Haydn-Jones busting moves. Matt Cohen showing off his slightly athletic torso…I could go on, but there’s only so much time in the day.

TW: A vast array of conventions have left their mark with different interactions and experiences. Is there a fan experience from a convention that you have fond memories of or has left a lasting impact on you?

GT: Again, where to start? I’ve been appearing at conventions since before my character even died (spoiler alert!). So, I’ve seen “Gabe Tattoos,” incredible art, Cotton Ball Monsters, and discussed slash fiction starring myself and my friends. It’s been a crazy decade of conventions. Holy crap! A decade?!?!?

TW: First conventions are their own special experience. Can you tell us a little bit about yours? Where was it? What memory sticks out most from the experience? Did the experience live up to your expectations?

GT: My first convention was in Orlando at a convention called “Eyecon.” I had no idea what to expect. When I first got my invitation, I assumed it was a mistake. Perhaps there was another “Gabriel Tigerman” who had done more than one episode of the show? I also had no idea how popular the show was. Was anyone even going to be there? Anyway, when I walked onto the stage for the Q&A, I was stunned to be greeted by hundreds and hundreds of screaming fans of the show. I thought, “This is what the Beatles felt like. I’m totally the Beatles.”

This was also the convention where I first met Chad Lindberg and our love began. Speaking of “Chad Love,”™ until that point I only knew Chad from ‘The Fast and the Furious,’ watching him on set from behind the cameras, and from a certain slash fiction story that a friend of mine had forwarded to me. How did this friend find said slash fiction? That’s a question that has not been satisfactorily answered. Anyway, I remember meeting Chad, shaking his hand, and then having a flash of the imagery of said slash fiction. So, it was like, “Hey nice to meet—Oh, dear! Oh, my! Um…I’m going to go now. Bye!”

TW: Is there a message you would like to extend to the “Supernatural” Family until we can all be together again?

GT: Not to end this interview on a downer, but my wife and mother-in-law (who is living with us through the pandemic) are both immune-compromised. I see every day how scary the prospect of catching this virus is for them. So, please, please, PLEASE, wear masks when you go outside. It’s the very least we can do to take care of each other. I look forward to getting through this and seeing everyone at a convention again in the not-TOO-distant future!

Nerd Alert News would like to extend our gratitude to Gabriel Tigerman for taking the time to chat with us. We greatly appreciate it.
