Tamera Mowry Remembers Long Time Family Friend, Naya Rivera Calling Her ‘A Beautiful Light.’

Friends, family, and fans are still mourning the sudden unexpected death of “Glee” star, Naya Rivera. Recently, longtime family friend, Tamera Mowry-Housely spoke out to Pop Culture  about Rivera stating, “Naya has been a part of the Mowry family for years, and we’re still there for each other.”

Naya and Tamera’s brother, Tahj were very close having worked together when they were very young and remained close through the years, even dating throughout much of their high school years. Following Naya’s disappearance, Tahj took to his Instagram to pen a heart-wrenching tribute to Rivera calling her his “first love”.

“My sweet Naya – to say that I am devastated would be an understatement. This is a nightmare. Every day gets harder. However, I am holding onto hope that you will be found.

We grew up together. We became adults together. We experienced so many firsts together. You were my first experience with everything; love, intimacy, heartbreak. We broke each other’s hearts and then mended them back together…more than once. I will never not think of you. No woman has ever measured up what you gave me or how you made me feel. I’ve never liked to admit it but I have never stopped loving you. A part of me always wished for the day where God would bring us back together to be what we dreamt we could have been”

Goes on to say, “I pray deeply for the Rivera family and that God blankets them with strength, peace, and love right now. Mychal and Nickayla – you will always be like younger siblings to me and I love you dearly. I watched you two grow up into beautiful adults. George and Yolanda – whatever you need I am here for you. We are forever family and I love you….”

He ends his lengthy, touching tribute with, “I love you forever. I always have and I always will.”

Mowry-Housley told the publication “that there’s an even mix of good and bad days as a family when you’re attempting to overcome the feelings accompanying a tragic loss, but doubled down on her kind words about the late actress, calling her “talented” and “beautiful.”

“We have to learn to enjoy the present and the life that we’ve been given right now,” she added, “So yeah, she was such a beautiful light. Beautiful, ever since, I mean, I met her when she was nine […] yes, beautiful. And what a light and talent she was.”
