The buzz has been out on the premiere of “The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder” for a few weeks and fans of the original Nickelodeon series are getting excited. The award-winning show ran from 2001-2017 and those viewers have all grown up and remember the adventures of 10-year-old Timmy. They remember those well-meaning fairy godparents who should have thought twice before granting him all of those wishes. The original was animated, and what makes this new series fresh and news is a combination of live-action and animation.
This version will pick up years after the original ended and it will follow Timmy Turner’s cousin, Vivian “Viv” Turner, and her new stepbrother, Roy Raskin. They will find out what life is like in Dimmsdale with the help of their fairy godparents, Wanda and Cosmo. Yes, Wanda and Cosmo are back with the original voice actors Susanne Blakeslee and Daran Norris. They will be joined by Audrey Grace Marshall as Vivian “Viv” Turner; Tyler Wladis as Roy Raskin; Laura Bell Bundy as Roy’s mom, Rachel Raskin; Ryan-James Hatanaka as Viv’s dad, Ty Turner; and Imogen Cohen as their friend, Zina Zacarias.
For those who have not seen the “Fairly OddParents” or want to dive into a re-watch, all 10 seasons are now on Paramount+. Every show was a hilarious wild ride of adventure and comedy that entertained all ages. Start that binge before the premiere of “Fairly Odder” on March 31, 2022.
