Toho treats fans to an amazing Godzilla, and the Japan Society offers a sneak peak.


Japan Society has proudly announced an exclusive public preview screening of Takashi Yamazaki’s highly anticipated film, “Godzilla Minus One.” New York can boast the Kaiju event on November 28th that will offer a sneak peek into a unique chapter in the Godzilla saga. Toho International will then officially release the film in theaters across the U.S. on December 1st, allowing audiences to immerse themselves in a cinematic experience like never before.

“Godzilla Minus One” marks a departure from the familiar narrative, transporting viewers to a post-war Japan still grappling with the aftermath of destruction. Written and directed by the acclaimed Takashi Yamazaki, the film delves into uncharted territory, posing a captivating question: What transpires when a disarmed and defenseless Japan confronts the iconic Godzilla? The storyline unfolds against the backdrop of a Japan scarred by war and still in the process of healing. As the nation strives to rebuild, a new threat emerges, thrusting Japan into a state of vulnerability.
