I just wanted to say a big thank you to those of you who read my Movin’ Meeples column. I know a lot of my reviews are not the newest games, but I feel that they are fantastic games and are still as good, if not better than some of the newest.

Here is some of the latest from a few gaming publishers.

Fantasy Flight had a busy April, with the newest addition to the Lord of the Rings, Journeys in Middle Earth. A wonderful exploration and dungeon crawl hybrid. See my review here.

In addition, we have some “Star Wars” news. Their new game, Outer Rim. It is scheduled to release in their second quarter of this year. It looks very much like “Firefly” the board game but in the Star Wars Universe.

Speaking of Gale Force Nine, still waiting for the Doctor Who Time of the Daleks expansions to release set for this quarter.

Look for Aliens, a direct miniatures game with all your favorites from the movie. The miniatures look really nice. Coming up the third quarter of this year.

For you Star Trek Ascendancy fans, look for the 2 newest factions; Vulcans and Andorians also second quarter.

Finally, they have acquired the rights to bring back a classic game, Dune. Originally published in 1975, and long out of print. This updated edition is set to release August of 2019.

Finally, after a successful Kickstarter, Mantic Games has released Hellboy the board game. Designed by James M. Hewitt this atypical dungeon crawl has players as agents of the BPRD fighting against the supernatural threats. With unique mechanics and artwork from Mike Mignola himself, this is a great choice for fans of Big Red.

Check back throughout the month as we see what some of our favorite companies have in store for their second quarter releases. And look for reviews of Blood Rage, Star Wars Rebellion, and First Martians soon.
