There is an old indigenous legend about something unholy that walks the lands of beautiful Utah state; in the northeast corner, to be exact. Approximately 512 acres where more UFO, paranormal, and unexplainable encounters have happened (than can be counted) and go back to the 1800s, leaving generations baffled. Welcome to Skinwalker Ranch.
On Hulu, there are two different programs available right now that focus on this disturbing phenomenon. One is called, “The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch,” which is a History Channel production, and this is the first season, with 8 episodes. “The Hunt for the Skinwalker,” is a documentary movie. Both the series and the movie leave viewers with many questions about the Skinwalker and the various happenings on this land and hardly any answers.
According to Wikipedia, a Skinwalker is from the Navajo culture and is “a type of harmful witch who has the ability to turn into, possess, or disguise themselves as an animal. The term is never used for healers.”
The land in Utah is surrounded by the Ute Indian Reservation in the Uintah Basin, and Skinwalker Ranch has been considered a hotspot for paranormal activity because, according to many of the locals, at least half the population has had some sort of unnatural encounter that cannot be explained by modern science. The last two owners of “Skinwalker Ranch” have devoted their time, money, and risked their reputations in order to fully research the phenomenon that has occurred on the property. There have been no definitive answers found to date.Â
Whether it is seeing giant wolf-like creatures that seem to defy nature due to their unnatural size and shape; unidentified flying objects zipping back and forth over the property: cattle mutilations that seem to have been performed with medical precision, all have been experienced by people in this area. Research goes back to the 19th century. Some people who have been exposed to the UFO phenomenon, have become sick with cancer, or MS; one person even had his scalp separated from his skull after digging on the ranch.
One of the legends of Skinwalker ranch is this: “Don’t dig on the property,” according to ranch superintendent Thomas Winterton, who experienced his scalp separating from his skull after trying to make the ranch more accessible by carving out some dirt roads. Explaining further, Winterton says, “The shaman cursed this ground with this demonic being that can take the form of, people say, a wolf, a coyote, a crow, or human.” (KSL TV.)
Just hours ago, the owner of The Skinwalker Ranch, Brandon Fugal, told Doug Jessup, of Jessop’s Journal, ABC4 News, Salt Lake City, that he bought the ranch as a skeptic but has since changed his views about it. Fugal told the reporter that after finally seeing a UFO, he was “in complete shock.”
This land that lays against the Skinwalker Ridge, allegedly a hotbed of paranormal activity and the site of unidentified flying objects and other unbelievable incidents, is still under observation. Online there are first-hand encounters described by hundreds of people. Do you want to believe? Do you want to know more about this possible portal to another world, as some people have called it? If so, don’t miss the premiere of Season 2 of “The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch,” on the History Channel on May 4th.
