Excitement is brewing among anime enthusiasts worldwide as Netflix gears up to launch its latest addition to the streaming platform’s anime lineup – “T・P BON.” Based on Fujiko F. Fujio’s acclaimed science fiction manga “Time Patrol Bon,” this animated series promises a thrilling journey through time and space, blending adventure, history, and a touch of mystery. Set to premiere exclusively on Netflix, “T P Bon” follows the adventures of Bon, a typical Junior high school student who unexpectedly finds himself thrust into the role of a Time Patrol member. Tasked with saving those who have met unfortunate ends without significantly altering the course of history, Bon embarks on a series of daring escapades that span across various historical events.
The trailer shocks from the start with the main character’s friend falling from his apartment to his death. Out of the blue, Ream Stream, a Time Patrol agent, appears. She’s wearing a futuristic helmet and uniform, magically rewinds time, and reverses the fate of Bon’s friend. Normally people who come across Time Patrol members have their memory erased, but for some reason, Bon’s memory remains intact. He is then brought in as a Time Patrol agent-in-training. Teaming up with Ream to carry out missions, Bon is excited about using tools of the future, including the “time boat” that can sail through time and space. He touches the lives of people who lived wisely in each era.
Go on an epic journey throughout Earth and the history of humanity along with T・P BON. From the majestic landscapes of ancient Egypt during the construction of the pyramids to the bustling Silk Road of the Tian Shan Mountains, and even the perilous terrain of the Jurassic period teeming with dinosaurs, viewers are in for a rollercoaster ride of epic proportions. Through Bon’s eyes, audiences will witness breathtaking scenery and pivotal moments in history, all brought to life with stunning animation.
Produced by the renowned animation studio BONES, the creative force behind hits like “My Hero Academia,” “T P Bon” guarantees a visual spectacle coupled with captivating storytelling. Under the direction of Masahiro Ando, viewers can expect an amazing experience. Voicing the lead characters are Akihisa Wakayama (Bon Namihira) and Atsumi Tanezaki (Ream Stream). Adding another layer of depth to the series is the enchanting musical score by Michiru Ōshima.
Fujiko F. Fujio’s “Time Patrol Bon” offers a unique blend of mystery, adventure, and historical exploration, making it a captivating watch for both adults and children alike. The first season of “T・P BON” is coming to Netflix on May 2nd, and the second season on July 17th.
