Tony McCarthy doesn’t have to find inspiration to go to work. He loves his job and shows up ready to go! The actor enjoys climbing into costumes and playing some pretty wild characters. McCarthy has a long list of projects in the works such as “Luther,” “The Marvels,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quanumania,” and “Secret Invasion.” You may have spotted him “The Batman” and “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.” Nerd Alert News grabbed a few moments with the actor in between takes.

Colleen Bement: Congratulations on all of the exciting new projects that you have in the works.

Tony McCarthy: Thank you it’s my pleasure to do the interview.

CB: Let’s chat about the roles in some of the biggest films out right now including “The Batman” and “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.” Let’s start out by chatting about these films.

1.) Just how excited were you to get a role in “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore,” and are you a “Harry Potter” fan?

TM) It was a great privilege to work on an iconic film. I’m very much a Harry Potter fan and loved the chance to work on this.

2.) Tell us about what life was like on the set of “The Batman.” I was very impressed with this new version.

TM) This was something I always wanted to work on. As a young man, I watched all the other Batman films. It was great fun and really enjoyed it. The new film is up there with the rest of the Batman films.

CB: I read about Netflix’s new series “The Pentaverate” and it’s right up my alley. Tell me about your role, and would you happen to have any stories from the set?

TM) I’m sure you will enjoy it and I’m looking forward to seeing it as well.

CB: What other projects do you have in the works that you’re allowed to share with my readers?

TM) Unfortunately the are no new upcoming projects that I am currently in a position to talk about. I’m really excited for the future.

CB: How do you prepare for a role? How do you get into character?

TM: Some of the creature projects, I do research on them ahead of time. Once I’m in full costume, you become the person or creature.

CB: What do you do when you wake up and you’re just not feeling it that day? How do you pump yourself up?

TM) I don’t really have days like that I love my job and cannot wait to get to work every day I’m all ready for the day before I get there and some of the jobs you are in make up for quite a few hours so you get chance to relax and start your day.

CB: Do you have any special causes that are close to your heart?

TM) I think really it’s been great working on every new film and tv series. They are all unique in their own way, and I’m very humbled to work with so amazing actors and crew.

Have you seen “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore?” It was entertaining and answered a lot of questions.
