Well, Kevin J. Anderson has done it again! This time it’s a new look at an old classic. Most of us science fiction fans have either read, or at least know about the incredible stories from H.G. Wells; The Time Machine, The Invisible Man, The Island of Dr. Moreau, and of course, the War of the Worlds.
In Mr. Wells and the Martians, Kevin J Anderson retells the War of The Worlds by making it a narrative of real events. We have HG Wells himself, his lovely companion Jane, and the clever and bright Professor TH Huxley in a fantastic journey that takes them to the moon and eventually to the Red planet itself in an effort to save Humanity from an oncoming invasion.
The book is two stories being told simultaneously; Dr. Moreau and his encounters with a martian rescued on Earth, alongside the narrative of Wells and his companions as they read through his journal, and have their own adventures.
It is a wonderful new spin on a great classic; An enjoyable read that I highly recommend.
