Yogi and Boo Boo are back in Jellystone. Picnic baskets beware!
Yogi Bear knows that picanic baskets may be delicious on the lips, but they’re a lifetime on the hips. Nevertheless, he will go after that those picnic treats. Our favorite bear is back in HBO Max’s new animated ensemble comedy series “Jellystone.” Thanks to Hanna-Barbera, Yogi Bear, Boo Boo, Cindy, Huckleberry Hound, and even a whole universe of Hanna-Barbara characters will be entertaining audiences from Jellystone.
The series premieres Thurs., July 29, 2021, on HBO Max. It has been 30 years since TV has seen these legendary characters, and thanks to showrunner and executive producer C.H. Greenblatt (Chowder, Harvey Beaks) and Warner Bros, Jellystone will again be alive with adventures. A new generation of fans will have the chance to meet these characters from the past with new and modern animation. Make no mistake, these guys will be back causing havoc in the town. Remember Huckleberry Hound? He will be the town mayor. Cindy, Boo Boo, and Yogi are the medical staff, while Jabberjaw works at a clothes store.
Greenblatt himself voices characters including Boo Boo, and Peter Potamus, and Benny. Other talents joining the series are Jeff Bergman, who will voice of Yogi, Jim Conroy, Georgie Kidder, Grace Helbig, Niccole Thurman, Thomas Lennon, Ron Funches, Bernardo de Paula, Dana Snyder, Katie Grober, Paul F. Tompkins, Jenny Lorenzo, Fajer Al-Kaisi, Lesley Nicol, Simone Mohanty, and Andrew Frankel. These well-known voice actors will bring the show to life. Greenblatt remembers watching the Hanna-Barbera cartoons and says that he has a deep love for these characters. The massive amount of both classic and not-so-classic characters we were able to use from the Hanna-Barbera library is what really makes the Jellystone! universe special.
