It has been a time of isolation and quarantine. If you aren’t an essential worker, you are more than likely sequestered in your home. Hours easily bleed into days, days into weeks, and the term ‘stir-crazy’ might not adequately cover it for most. Thankfully, while we all may be separated at this time, we are far from alone.

Fans of different fandoms have banned together to create activities that keep each other engaged and connected. From paint classes to watch parties, everyone is coming together to help each other stay sane during these scary times. Creation Entertainment has been hosting virtual fan experiences through Stageit and Zoom that have brought out an amazing generosity amongst the fans once again. Adam Fergus and David Hayden-Jones’ live panels this past weekend helped to lift the spirits of the fandom and brought countless smiles to so many people. If you missed the panels, don’t worry because there are more to come with Mark Pellegrino, Rachel Miner, Chad Lindberg, Chase Masterson, and Jim Beaver this Fri. May 9 and Sat. May 10, 2020.

Some of our favorite celebrities have even personally joined in on the action. Jaret Reddick, Jason Manns, The Dollyrots, and Rob Benedict have done multiple Stageit shows from their homes. Zach Braff and Donald Faison have started a rewatch podcast for their hit show “Scrubs.” Richard Speight Jr. and Rob Benedict have quite the hilarious podcast as well. Of course, we can’t forget about Briana Buckmaster’s Instagram live Happy Hour every Thursday or Jake Able’s Jake&Bake cooking show from the same platform. Not to mention, the wildly successful GISH one day hunt that Misha Collins hosted. Be sure to sign up for the next one!

The way we have all come together in these crazy days is truly amazing. However, the most notable, and perhaps beautiful, result of the fandom endeavors is how much good has been done. Thousands of dollars have been donated to organizations such as Random Acts, Feeding America, and CARE, just to name a few. There are countless stories of people helping out their fellow man and entire fandoms doing anything they can to lessen each other’s load.

So, in whatever way you are doing your part—entertaining or teaching, donating to organizations with the sole purpose to help as many people in need as possible, committing anonymous good deeds, or simply just being there for someone who is hurting—thank you, for everything. We will get through this dark tunnel together and come out even stronger and brighter on the other side. Stay strong.
