“Supernatural” ended its midseason finale with a bang. Team Free Will was trying hard to save the world from God. They realized pretty quickly that they needed help finding God’s Achilles’ heel, and they called in the prophet Donatello. The poor prophet wanted nothing to do with it all but gave the boys the push they needed to go and try and find Michael. When Chuck decided to speak through Donatello to threaten the boys to back off, it really messed with Doni.

Cas, Dean, and Sam realized they needed to go to hell to speak to Michael in the cage, while Eileen stayed behind to keep an eye on the spell to ensure everyone’s safety. Once there, they were met with an army of Demons defending hell, until they were caught off by their Queen, Rowena.

In her death, Rowena has now taken the throne as Queen of Hell. Sam was visibly shaken to see Rowena, but we don’t get the sappy reunion we were hoping for. Rowena informs them that the cage has been open, and after searching Hell, they realized that he was not there. Rowena told Dean and Cas to fix their friendship so they would not have any regrets. The boys took the info and start to search for Michael.

At this point, we saw Michael and Adam (who was still inside of the vessel) eating and chatting at Jaci’s diner. With a lovely tune, Goin Straight by Richard Speight, Jr. in the background. They both had been out of the world for years and were now rediscovering life. They seemed to have an interesting friendship, which was odd, but cute to see. Lilith showed up to tried and convince Michael to go with her to God, but so fast, he kills her. At that moment, Donatello feels a surge of energy and alerts the boys. Cas decides to pray to Michael, and like a scene out of a movie when Michael agrees to meet, they ambush him to take him back to the bunker.

Michael is very angry, but he lets Adam come out to speak and the boys start to apologize, Michael is seemingly protective of Adam. After what feels like an eternity of convincing, Michael realizes that his father realizes has betrayed them all, he is having a really hard time with it. On a lighter note, Dean starts to jokingly give Sam crap about his relationship with Eileen, but he is happy for him. In this Episode, Eileen has a friend that calls her for help and Eileen needs to go and save her. She grabs Sam, and they go off to help, but when they get there they don’t find the friend, they find Chuck waiting for them.

Chuck is clearly out of control, and very clearly scared of what the boys will figure out to bring him down. This is really lining up and awesome remainder of the season. This episode was directed by Richard Speight, Jr. When he directs, you know you are in for a visual treat.
